About the event
The CIT 40-hour Patrol Officer Course is designed to increase skills related to behavioral health during calls for service. Training Topics include de-escalation tactics, role-play scenarios, local behavioral health resources, behavioral health symptom overview, trauma/stress response, & voices of lived experience. While this training is tailored to law enforcement patrol officers, we encourage (space permitting) other criminal justice, behavioral health, emergency medicine, peer support, & first responder professionals to attend. A more detailed schedule/syllabus will be sent out by Friday, January 10, 2025.
Start time for January 13th will be 8:00am
Lunch will be provided each day.
Attendance Note: To receive a certificate, you must complete 40 hours of training. A subpoenaed court hearing is typically the only accepted excused absence. Please contact your instructors as soon as possible for extenuating circumstances, as this will be handled case by case.
